Center of Excellence: Data Science Lab

Data Science Lab (DSL) at NITIE has been set up in 2021 as per Board approval with a seed grant from NITIE alums IM 2 Batch. It has been aimed to establish NITIE as a Leader in Analytics and Data Science Domain.

It will help to conduct research contributing to the theory and practice of the Data Science Domain. This forum initiates interaction and dialogue on data science-related issues, challenges, and solutions between academia and industry. We aim to educate and train executives to develop future industry leaders in the Analytics area.

This platform will increase the visibility of the Analytics and Data Science disciplines within the students' community and promote budding entrepreneurs and incubate start-ups in the field of data science and its applications.

Director's Note

Businesses, individuals, and society face new threats and risks in a VUCA world, which risk managers, C-Suite leaders, IT professionals, and policymakers should be concerned about managing. Threats and risks can erode trust in products and services, undermining even the most valuable company's carefully built reputation.

Trust is extremely fragile in the digital sphere, and the best way to deal with the rapidly changing threat landscape is to implement a cohesive, well-structured cybersecurity strategy that acts as a shield during the constant and rapid upheaval of digital transformation, protecting the company's tangible and intangible assets, including its reputation.

NITIE is poised to achieve its excellence goals by establishing this centre of excellence: Data Science and Digital Trust, by creating scalable templates for industry applications and focusing on identifying solutions using futuristic technology. This Initiative is a living testament to an institution dedicated to contributing to capacity building at multiple levels: consulting capabilities within the Institute that serve current industry requirements, a supply of high-quality executives to create future capacity in industries, and a good pool of intellectuals who contribute to the academic requirements required for nation building. NITIE has a thriving alumni community that leads and contributes to major industries in India and worldwide.
